Live Insertion PCI Bus Extenders
The Ultraview PCIEXT64 extender series offers excellent PCI signal
integrity, due to high speed trace layout, including high impedance
signal traces and minimal ground inductance, as well as active bus isolation,
to ensure minimal effect on the board-under-test. Power monitoring and
current limiting features allow a robust debug and test environment.
The capabilities of Ultraview's two models of Universal 66/33MHz 64/32-bit
PCI extenders are as follows:
MODEL PCIEXT64UB
Our most popular PCI Extender model for high volume production testing
and engineering use, can be installed in either 3.3V or 5V, 66MHz and
33MHz, motherboard slots, and can accept both universal and 5V boards-under-test.
Top-connector keying allows the insertion of universal or 5V boards
under test, and provides better alignment for boards with out-of-spec
gold finger region total length, but prohibits insertion of the fairly
rare 3V-only boards under test. The PCIEXTUB can accept both universal
(the most common PCI board type) and 5V-only boards under test, and
has a more rugged conector than the PCIEXT64U.

Note: If you need to test rare 3.3V-only boards (in
addition to 5V and universal boards), the PCIEXT64U, described below,
is the only extender that will be suitable, as it is the only one
that will accept the 3.3V-only board. Otherwise, the PCIEXT64UB is
strongly preferred due to better connector alignment and a more rugged
top connector. Both extenders can be inserted in 3.3V or 5V motherboard
slots, and are identical except for the presence of a key in the connector
of the PCIEXT64UB.
MODEL PCIEXT64U
The PCIEXT64U is identical to the PCIEXT64UB but does not have top-connector
keying, it can be installed in either 3.3V or 5V motherboard slots and
can accept 5V, 3.3V-only, and universal boards-under-test.

MODEL PCIEXT-64
The PCIEXT-64 is a legacy, 5V only, high-speed 32/64 Bit PCI Bus Extender
Test Card with switchable bus isolation switches supporting 32 and 64
bit PCI Cards. High PCI signal integrity requirements are met with both
high speed trace layout parameters, (controlled high impedance and minimal
ground inductance) and active bus isolation with low capacitance, resistance
and delay to insure minimal effect on board under test. Power monitoring
and current limiting features insure a robust debug and test environment.
